Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Analyst to join our team at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our financial software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on accounting software technology, recommending, designing, and implementing solutions and identifying best practices for maintenance.
  • Configuration Changes: Design and implement configuration changes to ensure seamless integration with our financial systems.
  • Production Support: Resolve production support issues and design/implement enhancements to our financial software.
  • Vendor Management: Work directly with vendors to resolve software bugs or identify solutions for data or configuration issues.
  • Integration Issues: Resolve integration issues, including design/implementation of fixes to existing integrations.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine system maintenance; design new maintenance approaches to ensure a highly functioning system.
  • Data Integrity: Monitor and fix data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports and queries – both standard and custom (MS SQL/SSRS).
  • Collaboration: Lead discussions and collaborate with analytics team on downstream impacts of data modeling or business process changes.
  • IT Collaboration: Lead discussions with Information Technology (IT) team where cross-team collaboration is required to meet system needs.
  • Professional Development: Participate in vendor and industry user groups to learn best practices and share information.
  • Upgrade Planning: Plan for and lead upgrades to our financial software systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or equivalent relevant experience; advanced education in computer science a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience configuring third-party applications, working with software vendors, resolving production support issues, designing technical solutions, and providing overall technical support for complex financial software.
  • Industry Experience: 2+ years' experience in the legal industry where role required deep knowledge of accounting business processes and accounting best practices, and where internal colleagues and internal customers included staff and leadership of accounting organization.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate MS SQL, T-SQL, ETL knowledge and prior experience working with large third-party databases; SSRS experience, preferred.
  • .Net Development: 1+ years' experience.Net development (ability to read, understand, and make changes to a complex script; ability to create a basic script).
  • Business Acumen: 1+ years' experience working full-time in a business unit outside of IT where day-to-day colleagues included business-side, non-technical staff.
  • Autonomy: Experience working in an unstructured, complex environment in a role that requires autonomous, self-directed management of priorities and tasks.
  • Company Experience: Experience in a mid-sized company with multiple locations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients, attorneys, staff members, and other business contacts, are required.
  • Stress Management: Ability to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, courteous manner.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, service environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and able to work in an efficient and organized manner.
