Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in conducting intricate financial assessments by gathering financial information from diverse accounting and information systems. The analyst will also be responsible for creating financial models and forecasts, as well as offering advanced analysis of proposed and contracted insurance payer agreements. Additionally, this role involves contributing to the preparation of annual reports and engaging in special projects and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to extract and define pertinent information; interpret findings to assess past financial performance and forecast future financial trends.
  • Execute complex statistical, cost, and financial evaluations of reported data.
  • Formulate strategies aimed at reducing costs and enhancing revenue.
  • Generate financial reports for forecasting, trend analysis, and results evaluation for organizational leaders.
  • Comprehend and interpret insurance contract stipulations, reimbursement schedules, patient accounting systems, and other data sources to complete analyses and financial projections.
  • Monitor various value-based care contract payments, including shared savings, risk pools, incentives, and capitation.
  • Utilize a variety of software applications, including spreadsheets, business intelligence tools, relational databases, and graphic software to compile, manipulate, and format data and reports.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess fiscal impacts stemming from operational and clinical activities.
  • Gather and analyze data to ascertain the costs associated with business activities; may recommend budget adjustments and other cost improvement strategies to executive leadership.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for colleagues who need to make economic or business decisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Mandatory:
  • Ability to process data from various sources to deliver precise forecasts and actionable insights that aid leaders in making crucial business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Visual BASIC for Applications (VBA).
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, electronic health records, practice management systems, and visual dashboards. Experience with NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Planning, Epic, and Domo is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of managed care principles and the financial dynamics between payers and providers.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and engaging with team members.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Values teamwork, problem-solving, engagement, and adaptability.
  • Embraces change and practices open communication.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with minimal supervision.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial analytics, particularly with healthcare and/or managed care contracts; additional education may substitute for some experience.
Preferred Education
  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA).
  • 3 years of experience in value-based care analytics.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is a minimum of $96,394.00 up to a maximum of $137,155.20, determined based on relevant experience.
