Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in conducting intricate financial evaluations by gathering financial information from diverse accounting and data management systems. The analyst will also create financial models and forecasts, assess proposed and existing insurance payer agreements, and assist in formulating specific contracting strategies. Additionally, this role supports the preparation of annual reports and engages in special projects and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct financial data analysis to extract and define pertinent information; interpret findings to assess historical financial performance and project future financial outcomes.
  • Execute advanced statistical, cost, and financial analyses of reported data.
  • Develop strategies aimed at reducing costs and enhancing revenue.
  • Create financial reports for forecasting, trend analysis, and performance evaluation for organizational leaders.
  • Comprehend and interpret insurance contract stipulations, reimbursement frameworks, patient accounting systems, and other data sources to facilitate analyses and financial projections.
  • Monitor various value-based care contract payments, including shared savings, risk pools, incentives, and capitation.
  • Utilize a range of software applications, including spreadsheets, business intelligence tools, and database management systems, to compile, manipulate, and format data and reports.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess the financial implications of operational and clinical activities.
  • Gather and analyze data to determine the costs associated with business operations; may propose budget adjustments and other cost-saving measures to executive leadership.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for colleagues who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Required:
  • Ability to process data from various sources to deliver precise forecasts and actionable insights that aid leaders in making informed business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Visual BASIC for Applications (VBA).
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, electronic health records, practice management software, and visual dashboards. Experience with NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Planning, Epic, and Domo is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of managed care principles and the financial dynamics between payers and providers.
  • Enjoys collaborating with team members and working at the highest level of their expertise.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial analytics within healthcare and/or managed care contracts; additional education may substitute for some experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA).
  • 3 years of experience in value-based care analytics.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is a minimum of $96,394.00 up to a maximum of $137,155.20, determined based on relevant experience.
