Key Responsibilities:

As a Legal Administrative Assistant, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive secretarial and administrative tasks for attorneys with minimal oversight.
  • Execute firm administrative duties, including processing new client/matter requests, client invoices, time reports, and expense documentation.
  • Handle litigation-related responsibilities such as drafting correspondence, spreadsheets, presentations, and templates, ensuring meticulous formatting and preparation of documents for filing with various courts.
  • Collaborate effectively with courts, agencies, and firm departments, utilizing resources appropriately to fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Conduct word processing for drafts, revisions, and final documents related to client matters, including proofreading and ensuring accuracy in content and format.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files, manage contacts, and keep dockets organized for attorneys.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments, manage the attorney's calendar, and greet clients and guests as needed.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence efficiently.
Additional Duties:

Provide secretarial support to summer associates, visiting attorneys, and attorneys whose secretaries are unavailable. Occasionally deliver or collect documents for attorneys at various locations and assist in court as required.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of three to five years of experience in a mid-size or large law firm is essential. Familiarity with general office procedures and legal terminology is required.

Skills: Proficiency in advanced word processing and various software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are critical.

Education: A high school diploma is required; two years of college or equivalent experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:

This role is situated in a professional office environment, with potential collaboration across different offices and time zones. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

The annual compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $98,000, dependent on qualifications and operational considerations.
