Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of IT Disaster Recovery and various teams to assess potential threats, conduct business impact assessments, and pinpoint essential IT systems and processes.
  • Aid in the formulation and upkeep of disaster recovery strategies, including protocols, documentation for emergency responses, data safeguarding, system restoration, and infrastructure continuity.
  • Support the establishment of reliable data backup and recovery systems, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of vital data during and after emergencies.
  • Perform routine testing and validation of recovery strategies and protocols to confirm their efficiency and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on disaster recovery practices and procedures to bolster organizational preparedness and response capabilities.
  • Work alongside IT teams to evaluate and improve system recoverability, implementing backup schedules, updating configurations, and monitoring recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of third-party vendors and service providers for disaster recovery solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements concerning disaster recovery, offering recommendations for program improvements.
  • Participate in incident response and recovery initiatives during crises, collaborating closely with the Disaster Recovery Manager and other stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of demonstrated experience in disaster recovery or business continuity planning, with a strong grasp of disaster recovery methodologies, technologies, and industry standards.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong analytical abilities, capable of identifying potential risks, assessing business impacts, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing data backup and recovery systems, including familiarity with backup software, storage solutions, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and thoroughness in recovery strategies and protocols.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant compliance regulations and frameworks, such as HIPAA or ISO.
  • Willingness to respond to emergencies outside of standard working hours when necessary.

Additional Skills:

  • Relevant certifications and training are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and thoroughness in recovery strategies and protocols.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $112,000.00.
