Position Overview:

As an Emergency Recovery Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in fortifying our organization's capacity to effectively navigate and recover from unforeseen disruptions, ensuring the continuity of essential business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Associate Director of IT Disaster Recovery and interdisciplinary teams to assess potential vulnerabilities, conduct business impact assessments, and pinpoint critical IT systems and processes.
  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of disaster recovery strategies, encompassing protocols, documentation, and emergency response plans for data safeguarding and system restoration.
  • Facilitate the deployment of robust data backup and recovery frameworks, guaranteeing the reliability and accessibility of vital information during and post-crisis.
  • Perform routine evaluations and validations of recovery strategies and procedures to ascertain their efficacy and discover opportunities for enhancement.
  • Deliver training and support to staff on disaster recovery protocols and best practices to bolster organizational preparedness and response capabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT departments to evaluate and improve system recoverability, implementing backup schedules, refining configurations, and monitoring recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
  • Contribute to the assessment and selection of third-party vendors and service providers for disaster recovery solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards pertinent to disaster recovery, providing recommendations for program advancements.
  • Assist in crisis response and recovery initiatives, working closely with the Disaster Recovery Manager and relevant stakeholders to mitigate business interruptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of demonstrated experience in disaster recovery or business continuity planning, with a comprehensive understanding of recovery methodologies, technologies, and industry benchmarks.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the aptitude to identify potential threats, assess business impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing data backup and recovery systems, including familiarity with backup software, storage solutions, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and thoroughness in recovery plans and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, databases, and cloud services.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Awareness of relevant compliance regulations and frameworks, such as HIPAA or ISO.
  • Willingness to respond to emergencies outside of standard working hours when necessary.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications and training are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration with stakeholders across all organizational levels.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

Compensation: The budgeted salary range for this position is $112,000.00.
