Job Overview

Position: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) at Nuvance Health. This role is part-time, requiring 16 hours per week with shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on designated days.

Role Summary:

The Medical Practice Patient Representative is responsible for delivering high-level clerical and administrative assistance while coordinating patient care activities within the physician practice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and organize patient appointments, ensuring necessary authorizations for tests, referrals, and procedures are obtained.
2. Handle financial reconciliations and prepare daily office deposits.
3. Be prepared to provide support across various roles, including check-in and check-out functions.

  • Maintain and coordinate physician schedules, including meetings and patient rounds.
  • Oversee the ordering and management of office supplies to optimize operational efficiency while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Engage in workflow reengineering and process enhancements to align with initiatives such as Patient-Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use.
  • Conduct audits and assist in the tracking and reporting of necessary information.
  • Serve as a primary user for telephone and scheduling systems.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all responsibilities associated with the position.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and data entry, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Practice Management Systems, Medical Office environments, and Hospital Scheduling.

Compensation:
