Job Overview

At the Downtown Emergency Service Center, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Crisis Worker - Mental Health Specialist to join our team. This role plays a vital part in providing comprehensive support to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct multi-axial assessments, substance use screenings, crisis intervention, stabilization, and meaningful engagement with adults referred to the Community Developmental Disability (CDD) program.
  • Establish and implement individualized plans to successfully engage clients in relevant services and resources, setting realistic goals related to resolving their crisis.
  • Provide follow-up services as needed to establish linkage to services for program participants.
  • Complete data collection and documentation required of the CDD Project and DESC.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug (AAC) credential or any superseding credential meeting RCW 71.05.020 requirements.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or another relevant behavioral science, or a Bachelor of Nursing degree with a specialty in mental health.
  • Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle to conduct business; a current Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record are required.
  • Interest in working with difficult-to-engage clients and maintaining a non-judgmental response to sensitive issues.
  • Familiarity with recovery principles, crisis intervention and stabilization, integrated treatment of co-occurring disorders, intensive case management, illness management, trauma-informed treatment, and relevant evidenced-based/emerging best practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Washington.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English or bi-cultural background/experience.
Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is between $55,000 and $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
