Mobile Crisis Intervention Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Crisis Intervention Nurse Practitioner to join our team at DESC. As a key member of our Mobile Response Team (MRT), you will provide critical interventions to individuals in crisis while navigating the complexities of homelessness and mental illness.
Job Overview:
The MRT Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as part of the larger team to provide integrated behavioral healthcare services to clients in need of psychiatric and other medical attention. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate client care and ensure successful transition to ongoing care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis behavioral health services and time-limited case management via mobile intensive response teams
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications within all ethical and legal guidelines of the nurse practitioner profession
- Initiate low-threshold medical access to clients who may otherwise not present to traditional clinics
- Work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behavior
Requirements:
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license in the State of Washington
- Experience working with clients who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional mental health programs
- Strong knowledge of Harm Reduction principles and strategies
- Ability to remain open and receptive to constructive feedback
