Sales Support Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Sales Department with daily operations that align with the department's strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to clients and their guests, including both third-party and direct bookings.
  • Ensure the visibility and integrity of our department throughout the organization, fostering collaboration to guarantee that clients receive the promised services.
  • Build and maintain trusting, long-term relationships with our accounts.
  • Support sales initiatives within the Sales Office, including daily client service and acting as an internal sales contact, assisting with group leads in the absence of the sales representative.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation for travel and trade shows.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience as a Sales Support Specialist in an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience in a hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential.
  • Ability to read and write effectively to facilitate communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Capability to independently communicate customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Skill in identifying and nurturing account development.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computational skills are necessary.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including accounting software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  • Tasks involving Delphi will require attention to detail in notes and account entries following trade shows and phone interactions.
  • Mathematical skills and budget analysis capabilities are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most tasks are performed indoors at a desk with a controlled environment. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, with walking and standing required for the remainder of the workday. This may involve traveling to meetings. The duration of these tasks may vary daily. Must be able to reach other departments in a timely manner and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. The position involves various physical activities, including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity. Continuous communication with guests, supervisors, and team members is essential.
