Sales Support Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sales Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the Sales Department with daily operations, ensuring alignment with the department's strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients and their guests, including both direct and third-party bookings.
  • Maintain the visibility and integrity of our department across the organization, fostering collaboration to ensure clients receive the promised service.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with our accounts.
  • Support sales initiatives within the Sales Office, providing inside sales assistance and acting as a liaison for group leads in the absence of the sales representative.
  • Assist in preparations for travel and trade shows.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience as a Sales Support Specialist in a luxury or upscale hotel environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience in a hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential.
  • Strong reading and writing skills to facilitate effective communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to independently address customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Skill in identifying and developing client accounts.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computational skills are required.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including accounting software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  • Experience with Delphi for tracking notes and account entries related to trade shows and phone activities.
  • Mathematical skills and budget analysis capabilities are necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most tasks are performed indoors at a desk with a controlled environment. Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods, with walking and standing required throughout the day. Tasks may involve travel to meetings, with varying durations. Candidates should be able to reach other departments promptly and lift up to 15 lbs occasionally. The role requires a range of physical activities, including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive motions, along with effective communication skills.
