Job Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Barbering Education Specialist to enhance our educational offerings. In this position, you will be instrumental in developing the competencies and expertise of aspiring barbers, equipping them for fruitful careers in the barbering field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a thorough barbering educational program, in compliance with Washington State licensing standards.
  • Provide practical instruction covering all barbering disciplines, including cutting techniques, shaving, styling, and client interactions.
  • Assess student performance, offer constructive insights, and pinpoint areas needing improvement.
  • Foster a supportive and professional learning atmosphere, igniting enthusiasm for the barbering profession.
  • Remain updated on contemporary barbering practices and innovations through ongoing professional development.
  • Engage in the advancement of the barbering curriculum by contributing to program enhancement initiatives.
  • Communicate with external suppliers and organizations regarding payments, inventory, orders, and student admissions.
  • Oversee student timecard verification.
  • Coordinate client appointment scheduling.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions for new students.
  • Prepare the educational facility for inspections.
  • Compile and distribute reports on student progress.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

This role involves close collaboration with the owner, ensuring alignment with the institution's goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Barber Instructor License.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a licensed barber.
  • Teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and motivational abilities.
  • Capacity to cultivate a positive and encouraging educational environment for learners.
  • Strong commitment to the barbering profession and student achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with cash handling and business-related banking transactions.
  • Familiarity with MindBody or comparable client scheduling systems.
  • Proficiency in setting up chat messages, files, folders, and utilizing Microsoft Teams along with other Microsoft applications.
