Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students with a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities
- Design and deliver instruction that parallels the general education curriculum
- Collaborate with parents, administrators, and other professionals to develop educational plans
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
- Coordinate IEP implementation with general education staff
- Monitor student progress and participate in review and revision of IEPs
- Maintain accurate student records
- Mentor and support teaching assistants
- Assess students' skills and educational needs
- Communicate with parents and other stakeholders
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid state teaching certificate
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program
- Current CPR certification
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray
- Current Health certificate
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
