POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Human Services Specialist III. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and is based in a designated location.


Employees in this role are required to join a Union and adhere to associated fees and dues as per the collective bargaining agreement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill the essential functions.

  • Conduct outreach to family members visiting inmates to offer education and resources regarding addiction.
  • Distribute Narcan kits to interested family members and released inmates.
  • Engage with incoming inmates experiencing withdrawal from various substances.
  • Provide support and follow-up for inmates released to the community.
  • Assist other clients of Adult Forensic Services facing addiction challenges as necessary.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Possession of State Peer Certification.
  • Active participation in a recovery program.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills in English.
  • Ability to analyze situations thoughtfully and take appropriate actions.
  • Understanding and adherence to the responsibilities and procedures of the position.
  • Capability to effectively communicate with both large and small groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Requirements

*Education and Experience:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
*Physical Requirements:

  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend hours as needed.
