Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Surgery, the Surgical Support Specialist plays a vital role in preparing and maintaining operating rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies are available, and assisting with various tasks as directed by the charge nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care for surgical patients in both preoperative and intraoperative environments.
Transport patients from various care areas to the Operating Room or Holding Area prior to surgical procedures.
Utilize aseptic techniques during preparation and throughout surgical procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a nursing assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Visual and auditory acuity.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and retrieval.
