POSITION SUMMARY:
We are actively seeking a Human Services Specialist III. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and is based in a designated location.


Individuals in this position may be required to join a Union and adhere to associated fees and dues as per the collective bargaining agreement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential job functions.

  • Conduct outreach to family members visiting inmates, providing education and resources related to addiction.
  • Distribute Narcan kits to interested family members and recently released inmates.
  • Engage with incoming inmates experiencing withdrawal from various substances.
  • Offer support and follow-up to inmates transitioning back into the community.
  • Assist other clients of Adult Forensic Services facing addiction challenges as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Possession of State Peer Certification.
  • Participation in an active recovery program.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills in English.
  • Ability to analyze situations thoughtfully and choose appropriate actions.
  • Understanding and adherence to the methods and procedures required for the role.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate with both large and small groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Requirements

*Education and Experience:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
*Physical Requirements:

  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend hours as necessary.
