Position Overview:

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking dedicated Residential Services Workers who will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and facilitation of residential program services and activities tailored for individuals in their care.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Residential Services Worker (RSW), your primary duties will include:

  • Providing guidance and training to Residential Services Aides (RSA's) in the execution of residential training programs and services outlined in each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Conducting ongoing assessments and evaluations of individual needs and progress towards the goals established in the ISP.
  • Participating in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings, contributing insights regarding assessments and services, assisting in prioritizing needs, recommending methodologies, and collaborating with team members to ensure a continuous active treatment program for each individual.

Work will be conducted through clear written and verbal instructions, along with regular oversight from the Residential Services Supervisor (RSS) or other supervisory personnel.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time position
Typical work hours are from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.
Flexibility in work schedule may be required.
Overtime and travel may be necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, education, or nursing; or
  • One year of paid experience in direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with developmental disabilities, along with a bachelor's degree; or
  • Five years of paid experience in direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with developmental disabilities; or
  • A combination of experience and training that meets the above criteria.

Other Requirements:
  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will necessitate submission of criminal history reports.
  • A medical examination will be required.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports.
