POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking dedicated, empathetic, and diligent Practical Nursing Specialists. If you possess these qualities, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will engage in various nursing responsibilities aimed at providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your role will involve administering prescribed medications and treatments, monitoring physical and behavioral health, documenting and reporting observations, and assisting individuals during medical appointments. You will also support personal hygiene and care in alignment with established nursing standards and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties will encompass:

  • Full-time employment with a structured schedule.
  • Work hours include:
    • Evening shifts (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM).
    • Rotating days off with every other weekend free.
    • Potential travel and overtime as required.
  • Multiple vacancies may be filled from this posting.
  • Compensation: Starting salary may be fixed in certain cases.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania is mandatory.
  • Individuals with a temporary practice permit must secure full licensure within one year as stipulated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements:
  • Current PA residency requirement is waived for this position.
  • Applicants nearing completion of an approved licensed practical nursing program may apply, provided they can present a valid temporary practice permit or a Licensed Practical Nurse license upon appointment.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is required.
Legal Considerations:
  • A conditional job offer will necessitate successful completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position is subject to the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history checks, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
