Position Overview:

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking dedicated Residential Services Workers to oversee the planning, execution, assessment, and facilitation of residential programs and activities tailored for individuals in their care.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that residents receive the support they need in a nurturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Services Worker (RSW), your primary duties will include:

  • Providing guidance and training to Residential Services Aides (RSA's) in implementing individualized training programs and services as outlined in each person's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Regularly reviewing and assessing individual needs and progress towards achieving program goals.
  • Participating in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings, contributing insights on assessments and services, and collaborating with team members to establish a comprehensive active treatment program for each individual.

Work will be conducted under the supervision of a Residential Services Supervisor (RSS) or other management personnel, utilizing both written and verbal instructions.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a full-time position with work hours from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break. Flexibility in scheduling may be required, including potential overtime and travel.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include:

  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, education, or nursing; or
  • One year of paid experience in direct care and habilitative services for individuals with developmental disabilities, along with a bachelor's degree; or
  • Five years of paid experience in direct care and habilitative services for individuals with developmental disabilities; or
  • A combination of experience and training equivalent to the above.

Applicants nearing graduation with a qualifying degree within three months will also be considered.


Additional Requirements:
Applicants must meet residency requirements and be capable of performing essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will necessitate the submission of criminal history reports and a medical examination. This position is subject to the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history clearances.
