Position Overview:

Job Summary

This role is accountable for conducting maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications on Company-operated aircraft and related components as designated, adhering to Air Methods' policies and procedures. The technician ensures that the company's operational targets are achieved while confirming that all aircraft maintenance records are completed in accordance with relevant Federal Aviation Regulations, company guidelines, and applicable maintenance manuals.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in compliance with maintenance protocols, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Verifying part numbers and serial numbers against documentation during the installation or removal of components.
  • Ensuring all maintenance documentation is completed in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and maintenance manuals.
  • Actively engaging in the continuous improvement phase of the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and being well-versed in SMS policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional work environment.
  • Addressing compliance or safety issues as directed by management.
  • Communicating any maintenance concerns to the Pilot in Command (PIC) that may affect aircraft serviceability.
  • Validating data in the Status Report for the aircraft being serviced.
  • Requesting aviation parts and supplies to ensure a well-organized inventory for prompt repairs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Availability for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Willingness to travel periodically in support of Part 135 operations and company objectives (25-50% travel expected).

Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred completion of factory airframe/power plant schools.
  • Experience in FAR 135 operations is preferred.

Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and vibration-balancing techniques.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and composite repair procedures.
  • Ability to interpret various documents such as 337s, Service Bulletins, and ADs.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented approach with a professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including overtime and on-call rotations.
  • Competence in using electronic or paper-based manuals and navigating vendor data.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Experience with RAMCO is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess a valid FAA A&P License in good standing.
