This position is crucial for establishing standards and guiding engineering practices and reliability initiatives concerning fixed equipment, inspection, and mechanical integrity. The Senior Maintenance Inspector will oversee the execution and upkeep of fixed equipment inspection programs, ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations.
KEY OUTCOMES
- Foster a culture centered on reliability throughout the organization.
- Identify and advocate for the short, medium, and long-term requirements of fixed equipment to support compliant and reliable operations.
- Lead the development and implementation of inspection programs that enhance the performance of fixed equipment.
- Guarantee that all operational equipment undergoes appropriate inspections in line with regulatory standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fixed equipment inspection program that complies with all applicable laws and industry standards.
- Manage departmental budgeting, routine and turnaround work scoping, and oversee the training and certification of inspection personnel.
- Coordinate the inspection work process, collaborating with various departments to analyze equipment design and condition data, leading to prioritized inspection plans.
- Supervise inspection staff and direct contractors involved in non-destructive testing and maintenance services.
- Provide insights for the Fitness for Service program to assess the remaining life and repair needs of fixed equipment.
- Review turnaround inspection plans and recommendations.
- Support inspection requirements for capital projects.
- Track and report on departmental Key Performance Indicators and Corporate Metrics.
- Update inspection procedures to align with industry advancements and new regulatory requirements.
- Offer technical support regarding quality assurance and compliance with engineering specifications and standards.
- Advise on operational changes that may impact the mechanical integrity of pressure equipment.
- Actively engage in turnarounds and outages, committing to expected workloads.
- Participate in process safety initiatives to understand overpressure protection methods and provide guidance on compliance issues.
- Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections by collaborating with all stakeholders involved in pressure equipment integrity.
- Mentor and train field personnel on pressure equipment integrity matters.
- Identify and implement training programs for Fixed Equipment Inspection staff.
- Facilitate continuous performance feedback and improvement for team members.
- Ensure timely measurement and review of inspection program performance through adequate metrics.
- Review mechanical integrity recommendations for relevant projects, including routine work order root cause analyses.
- Support the development of expense and capital projects related to fixed equipment.
- Lead incident investigations concerning equipment failures when necessary.
- Contribute to the long-term planning for fixed equipment reliability projects and assist in strategic business planning.
