Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at The Waterford at Creekside. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our community, including grounds, buildings, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and document preventative maintenance programs for the community and equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain grounds, including outside building repair, lawn maintenance, and garbage removal as assigned.
  • Maintain the inside of buildings, offices, and common areas, including carpet and furniture cleaning, window cleaning, removal of trash, and upkeep of vinyl floors, as assigned.
  • Maintain and/or oversee the repair of community equipment, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and staff are trained appropriately in its use.
  • Prepare apartments for move-in and complete refurbishing of units after move-out as assigned.
  • Observe problems, concerns, issues observed with resident apartments, the building, and the grounds, and communicate them to the Executive Director.
  • Avoid loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Protect community assets from theft.
  • Maintain fire safety and emergency records, maintenance of systems, and inspections required by state and local regulations.
  • Maintain the maintenance budget for repairs, supplies, and service agreements, as provided by the Executive Director.
  • Order all supplies and maintain inventory control, verifying orders received to ensure needed maintenance items are on hand.
  • Ensure that all budgetary guidelines are achieved.
  • Train community team members on systems, equipment use, housekeeping, and cleaning standards, including chemical usage.

Requirements

  • Experience in janitorial/maintenance work preferred; familiarity with techniques of minor repair and maintenance for structural, electrical, plumbing, security, and heating and cooling systems required.
  • Experience in building safety and hazard reduction helpful.
  • Enjoy providing exceptional customer service and care to our senior residents.
