Job Summary:

GAT Airline Ground Support is seeking a dynamic individual to join its team of aviation professionals. As an Aviation Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload air cargo on and off aircraft, carts, containers, and trucks.
  • Cargo Transportation: Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft, and perform ramp transfers of cargo, including receiving, delivering, weighing, and documenting.
  • Cargo Preparation: Prepare and palletize cargo as needed, ensuring it is properly secured and ready for transportation.
  • Cargo Documentation: Read and legibly complete cargo documents and forms necessary to meet airline requirements.
  • Cargo Handling: Ensure the proper handling and delivery of cargo, and operate related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Dangerous Goods Handling: Follow all regulations and procedures for handling dangerous goods.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Comply with GAT Airline Ground Support's Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Cargo Pickup and Delivery: Pick up and deliver cargo as indicated, including mail and freight.
Requirements:
  • Electronic Device Navigation: Ability to navigate electronic devices, including computers, fax machines, printers, and time clocks.
  • GSE Maintenance Knowledge: Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
  • Commercial Aviation Experience: Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of processing information in a timely manner and proficiently speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer literacy required.
  • Ramp or Airline Experience: Previous ramp or airline experience preferred.
  • Training and Certifications: Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Background Check: Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to perform the duties of the job, including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
  • Lifting Capacity: Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
  • Weather Conditions: Willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noises.
Working Hours:
  • Variable Shifts: Must be able and flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday-specific shifts to be determined.
  • Extended Hours: Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations.
