The **Aerospace Maintenance Technician I** plays a crucial role in executing repair services on designated airframe and aeronautical components while adhering to established repair protocols. Delivering high-quality workmanship within strict timelines is essential for this position.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Interprets schematic diagrams, technical drawings, and manuals to operate, test, remove, troubleshoot, and replace aircraft system components.

+ Adheres to protocols for Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, housekeeping, tool management, environmental compliance, and safety regulations.

+ Conducts adjustments, repairs, or replacements of electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories, along with performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections. Responsibilities also include servicing aircraft, such as flushing crankcases, cleaning filters, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting brakes.

+ Diagnoses issues in aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces, control systems, anti-icing mechanisms, pneudraulic systems, engines, auxiliary power units, and environmental control systems.

+ Executes the jacking and towing of aircraft, documenting maintenance activities accurately and ensuring satisfactory completion of work. May perform engine and airframe component servicing at line stations, making necessary repairs to maintain aircraft safety without conducting overhauls.

+ Conducts conditional inspections on aircraft, including but not limited to 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, and periodic inspections. Inspects reciprocating engines for signs of wear, such as cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to engines to identify malfunctions.

+ Completes all required aircraft servicing tasks.

+ Operates and evaluates ground support equipment, documenting any discrepancies prior to use.

+ Engages in all activities related to the ground movement of aircraft.

+ Procures parts and supplies as necessary.

+ Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, company policies, and other maintenance directives as required.

+ Identifies and records aircraft discrepancies using appropriate documentation.

+ Performs additional related duties as assigned.

+ Participates in the towing and movement of aircraft during maintenance operations.

+ Removes, installs, opens, and closes aircraft equipment and panels as required.

+ Undertakes all other duties as assigned within the classification.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

+ A minimum of two years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic is required.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary company or government certifications, licenses, or clearances.

+ Proficient knowledge of aircraft systems and the use of standard and specialized aircraft tools is essential.

+ Comprehensive understanding of company processes and operations, along with basic computer skills.

+ Demonstrates professionalism through effective communication and behavior, with strong organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

+ Quick and accurate decision-making skills are essential, along with flexibility and a willingness to learn new concepts rapidly.

+ Familiarity with technical documents such as bulletins and service alerts is advantageous.

+ Completion of specialized training courses is preferred.

+ Proficient reading and writing skills, with the ability to comprehend technical data.

+ Capable of using hand tools and operating machinery.

+ Must possess a valid driver's license.

+ Willingness to work all assigned shifts and schedules.

+ A&P certification is preferred.

**Work Environment and Physical Requirements:**

+ Ability to perform tasks that frequently involve lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for extended periods.

+ Capable of working in confined or awkward positions and climbing ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.

+ Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, and for heavier objects, seek assistance or use lifting devices.

+ Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for hazardous material operations.

+ May be required to work night shifts and in various environments, including maintenance hangars or outdoor settings.

+ Potential exposure to extreme noise, fumes, airborne particles, electrical hazards, or moving parts, vehicles, or aircraft.

+ Some domestic travel may be necessary.
