Role Summary

The primary responsibility of the Senior Pastry Cook is to prepare high-quality food for our restaurants, outlets, banquets, and catering events, ensuring adherence to hotel standards for production quality and quantity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate guest requests to the appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow established specifications to prepare, present, and store food efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas, including walk-ins and cooking stations.
  • Ensure food is stored and served at appropriate temperatures, and manage food rotation to minimize waste.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of JC Resorts LLC.
  • Report any suspicious activities or hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Practice safe work habits to prevent injury to oneself and others.
  • Comply with safety regulations and properly handle all relevant equipment and machinery.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as required.
  • Perform additional tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Qualifications:

Must possess a basic understanding of English and be able to follow simple verbal instructions. A minimum of one year of cooking experience in a pastry kitchen is preferred, along with a professional culinary certification or degree. Familiarity with local health regulations and Covid protocols is essential. A County of San Diego food handler's card is required upon hire.

Working Conditions:

Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays is necessary. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, depending on service needs. The business environment may require a fast-paced work approach. Indoor areas are clean and well-lit, while outdoor conditions may vary.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk short distances throughout the shift, with the ability to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of working under pressure and frequently using stairs. Flexibility and good reflexes are necessary for operating equipment, and a valid driver's license is required.
