Job Title: Human Resource Generalist III

First Solar is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Generalist III to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing HR support to designated geographic regions of the U.S. and working closely with HR management and senior generalists to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and lead HR practices and objectives, providing day-to-day HR support to assigned departments and partnering closely with manufacturing supervisors and other leaders to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Lead associate relations efforts, coordinating the implementation of services, policies, procedures, and programs, and carrying out responsibilities in functional areas such as benefits, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
  • Partner with associates of assigned crew(s) and/or departments to provide a one-stop shop in HR support and act as a backup for opposite crew(s) and/or departments.
  • Learn the business by attending operations meetings and keep a pulse on associate morale by actively conducting management by walking around, communicating associate concerns appropriately.
  • Coach managers on associate issues and bring them to resolution, providing expert guidance and training on the interpretation and enforcement of employment laws, HR policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve employee relations issues or elevate them to the attention of management as necessary, ensuring documentation is complete.
  • Participate on and/or lead associate committees, maintain accurate HR records and files, and conduct compliance requests, such as audits, by ensuring appropriate follow-up and completion of necessary documentation.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proven employee relations experience required.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (Oracle) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and regulations required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with associates at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office and human resources information systems.
