Executive Italian Kitchen Leader

Centrolina, a renowned Italian restaurant and private dining venue in downtown Washington DC, is seeking an exceptional Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, with additional bonus potential.
Responsibilities:
- Drive kitchen operations with a focus on seasonality, learning roots of authentic Italian cuisine, and executing contrasting and complimenting flavors of fresh local products.
- Motivate and guide a team towards achieving operational excellence.
- Develop and implement creative menus that showcase the best of Italian cuisine.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and scheduling to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and dignity within the kitchen team.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of professional cooking experience in an upscale environment.
- Strong understanding of all stations, including Garde Manger, Pasta, Sautee, Grill, and proper food temperatures.
- Ability to butcher meat and fish; portion control.
- Diversity commitment.
- Focus on goals and objectives.
- Drive to constantly improve and recognize their role as a leader.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Restaurant scheduling, inventory management, and conflict resolution.
- ServSafe Food Handlers license.
