We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Osteria Morini in Washington DC.
About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef to lead our culinary team and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a talented culinary team, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Develop and implement menus that showcase the best of Italian cuisine, using only the freshest ingredients and innovative techniques.
- Collaborate with our Executive Chefs to drive menu innovation and consistency across all stations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to DOH guidelines and AMG COVID-19 health safety protocols.
- Ensure efficient inventory management, minimizing waste and maximizing cost-effectiveness.
- Train and develop junior chefs, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant restaurant experience, preferably in a similar Italian cuisine setting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including cooking techniques, ingredient selection, and menu planning.
- Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining composure and focus during peak service periods.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menu requirements, kitchen procedures, and staff needs.
