About the Role:

Development Counsellors International (DCI) is seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Senior Account Executive to join our Talent Attraction practice in New York City.

Job Summary:

The Public Relations Senior Account Executive will be responsible for generating buzz and marketing and promoting the cities, states, regions, and countries that we represent as ideal locations for business investment and talent attraction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute integrated PR and marketing programs to promote clients as hubs for job opportunities and amazing places to live.
  • Cultivate relationships with influential contacts in the press and secure earned media placements in top-tier print, national and online media.
  • Write press releases, story pitches, byline articles, and proposals to showcase client storylines and messaging.
  • Work closely with the client lead to develop strategic PR plans and client messaging.
  • Discuss marketing and campaign strategies with clients, monitor media coverage, and report back to the client.
  • Manage public perception of the client and maintain a strong online presence.
  • Manage at least one direct report and provide guidance and support to ensure team success.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of PR and media relations experience required.
  • Agency experience is highly valued.
  • Strong writing capabilities and media relations skills across a variety of industries, including B2B and lifestyle.
  • Track record of securing earned media placements.
  • Excellent client management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic, creative thinker who can develop and execute integrated PR and marketing programs.
  • Experience in successfully managing junior staff.
  • Project management skills and the ability to balance multiple clients and work on tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated individual and team player with a drive to hit goals.
  • BA/BS degree.
