Job Summary

EmblemHealth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Executive to represent the company's business interests to a designated portfolio of key clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent consulting, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of the health insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Renewals and Growth: Present and successfully close client renewals by analyzing renewal data and preparing material to support the renewal proposal. Routinely visit clients and/or their consultants to keep them informed of issues that may impact benefits and rates.
  • Client Satisfaction and Retention: Focus on client satisfaction, retention, and growth by collaborating effectively with other areas of EmblemHealth to proactively prevent and resolve issues as needed. Present client statements of experience and other year-end reports that highlight the value proposition of the plan.
  • Sales and Marketing: Actively participate in the organizing and execution of sales campaigns to increase membership. Develop strategies to identify opportunities within assigned client groups to upsell additional coverage and lines of business.
  • Industry Knowledge and Compliance: Remain current with EmblemHealth's benefits and capabilities, industry trends, competitive strategies, and governmental regulations. Ensure State licensure requirements are met and up to date.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Generate reports to management that communicate accurate, complete, and current information on account status, including competitive intelligence. Maintain records, prepare reports, and written correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Assist less-experienced Account Executives with complex prospect and customer issues. Act as a team lead if assigned to the same book of business. Represent Account Management in internal meetings by assuming an active role.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health insurance field with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of health insurance industry, strong consulting, presentation, negotiation, and selling skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Licensure: Must obtain a NYS Health/Life Agents license within 60 days of employment.
