Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome clients with a friendly demeanor, assess their needs, and direct them to appropriate services.
  • Address service issues by clarifying complaints, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions while ensuring follow-up for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions in our data management system.
  • Calculate tenant rental payments accurately, ensuring compliance with Housing Authority policies and federal regulations.
  • Verify the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) calculations align with agency guidelines and federal laws.
  • Conduct informational sessions for potential applicants and participants.
  • Prepare and submit HUD Form 50058 and other required documentation to the HUD reporting system.
  • Process requests for lease approvals, organize contract files, and ensure completion of necessary forms.
  • Keep applicant files current and organized.
  • Ensure all required documentation, including executed HAP contracts and leases, are filed appropriately.
  • Input updated information for waitlist interviews and other relevant data into the internal database promptly.
  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of eligibility and admission processes.
  • Conduct annual reviews of participant income and household composition to confirm ongoing eligibility and benefit levels.
  • Review reported changes from applicants or participants and make necessary adjustments.
  • Interview participants to verify income sources for eligibility and financial responsibility.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, both narrative and statistical.
  • Organize files for the initiation of assistance terminations related to the PBV Program.
  • Respond to inquiries from participants and landlords in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between participants and landlords to resolve any arising issues.
  • Compile and analyze data to monitor special programs, including non-routine activities.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, typing, filing, scanning, and general office maintenance.
  • Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
  • Certification in PBV Eligibility, Occupancy, and Rent Calculations must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Prior knowledge of public housing management principles and basic bookkeeping practices is highly desirable.

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to adapt to various personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
  • Capability to interpret and apply agency and HUD regulations accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data and maintain organized records.
  • Competence in prioritizing tasks to optimize time management.
Compensation: $16.00 per hour
