Job Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), El Paso Field Divisions. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Domestic Division Financial Procurement Unit (FPU) with processing various types of accounting transactions, analyzing financial information, and providing customer support within the assigned Division offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and develop cost data for a broad operating program utilizing a variety of sources.
  • Provide customer service to assigned Division office(s)/group(s), vendors, and financial analysts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and make recommendations to the Senior Financial Management Specialist as needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate budget data to help monitor and track resources for assigned program areas.
  • Conduct research, identify, and analyze trends in the use of funds, and recommend adjustments in programs that require the rescheduling of program workloads.
  • Review and process accounting transactions for broad and varied range of functions including obligations, accrued expenditures, disbursements, appropriation refunds, reimbursable orders, expenditure vouchers, and rejected transactions.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary period.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.

Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-07 grade level.
  • Education: Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree -or- two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

  • Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-09 grade level.
  • Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -or- three (3) full academic years of graduate level education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
