Regional Sales Director

At Allied Machine & Engineering Corp., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the Southeast US territory.
Job Summary:The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the sales activities of our field sales engineers and manufacturer representatives in the Southeast US territory. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work closely with our Vice President of Marketing and Sales to establish sales goals and develop business plans to achieve them.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct the efforts of the field sales engineers and manufacturer representatives in the Southeast US territory.
- Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Sales to establish sales goals for each sales territory.
- Develop business plans to achieve approved sales goals with the territory managers.
- Monitor sales performance against goals and take corrective action when necessary.
- Recruit and recommend new territory managers for open territories within the region.
- Supervise the orientation of new territory managers.
- Recommend distributor changes and territory management changes as needed.
- Implement and maintain a competitive intelligence system within the region.
- Represent the company at key OEM accounts within the region.
- Attend key trade shows as authorized by the Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
- Work with territory managers to maintain a list of end users per territory.
- Recommend changes to field sales policies as needed.
- Monitor territory manager business reports and itineraries.
- Conduct performance appraisal reviews with field sales engineers and maintain a development plan for all FSEs within the region.
- Establish and maintain business relations with key distributor management and end user principals within the region.
- Provide marketing data from the region as requested.
- Provide a monthly business report to the Vice President of Marketing and Sales as per the approved format.
- Work on special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
- 2-year Engineering or Technology degree; 4-year degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales to the metal cutting industry; prior sales management experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to help solve engineering-related problems.
- E-mail software; Microsoft Office or equivalent.
