Job Overview

Allied Machine & Engineering, a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems, is seeking a skilled Regional Sales Manager to lead the Southeast US sales territory. This remote position requires the candidate to reside in the territory, preferably in the Southeast US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the efforts of field sales engineers and manufacturer representatives to achieve sales goals.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing and Sales to establish sales targets for each territory.
  • Develop business plans with territory managers to achieve approved sales goals.
  • Monitor sales performance and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Recruit and recommend new territory managers for open territories.
  • Supervise the orientation of new territory managers.
  • Recommend distributor changes and territory management adjustments.
  • Implement and maintain a competitive intelligence system within the region.
  • Represent the company at key OEM accounts and monitor sales calls.
  • Attend trade shows as authorized by the VP of M&S.
  • Work with territory managers to maintain end-user lists.
  • Recommend changes to field sales policies.
  • Monitor business reports and itineraries.
  • Conduct performance appraisal reviews and maintain development plans for FSEs.
  • Establish and maintain business relations with key distributor management and end-user principals.
  • Provide marketing data and monthly business reports to the VP of M&S.
Requirements
  • 2-year Engineering or Technology degree; 4-year degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in the metal cutting industry; prior sales management experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to solve engineering-related problems.
  • E-mail software and Microsoft Office or equivalent.
