Computer Science Instructor

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified part-time computer science instructor to join our team. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching computer science courses and contributing to the academic success of our students.
Responsibilities- Teach computer science courses, including introductory and advanced courses, as assigned by the department chair.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, including office hours, tutoring, and advising.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other activities as assigned by the department chair.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in computer science education.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with significant relevant work experience.
- Experience teaching computer science courses, preferably at the community college level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to use learning management systems, educational technologies, and other tools to support teaching and learning.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on creating an inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed. The position is subject to budgetary approval and may be cancelled or reduced at any time.
