Job Title: Instructor, Computer Science

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to join our Computer Science department at Foothill College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of college-level courses in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other areas of computer science.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach a range of computer science courses, including data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
  • Motivate and encourage students to succeed in their academic pursuits.
  • Support program planning and develop goals and metrics for student learning outcomes.
  • Support student success in STEM fields by promoting the use of STEM Learning Resource Center and other college-wide academic supports.
  • Engage in professional contributions on the Foothill campus throughout the academic year.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with data science and machine learning.
  • Strong teaching and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and technologies.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced academic environment, with a focus on teaching, research, and service. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
