About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mental health services to inmates within a county jail system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services, addressing a range of issues such as substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, sessions, and other relevant information.
  • Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications
  • Master's Level: Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Current licensure (LPC, LCSW, etc.) and eligibility for certification in correctional mental health (preferred). At least 2 years of experience providing mental health services, with experience in a correctional setting (preferred).
  • Bachelor's Level: Bachelor's degree in a field such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience providing mental health services, with experience in a correctional setting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for working with justice-involved populations.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, potentially challenging environment.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and working with diverse populations.
  • Registered Nurse: Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and diagnoses (e.g., substance abuse, personality disorders, psychosis)
  • Correctional health experience preferred, but not required
Working Conditions
