Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician is responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees and coordinates patient care on an individual basis.
- Engages in ongoing medical education to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director in program coordination and supervision of nurse practitioners and other healthcare personnel.
- Assists in the recruitment process for medical staff.
- Participates in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Actively engages in staff meetings, training sessions, and provider discussions.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential
- Ability to deliver healthcare sensitively to individuals from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Competence in examining, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages independently.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Kentucky.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty such as family practice, internal medicine, OB/Gyn, or pediatrics.
- Current certification in basic life support (CPR).
Special Requirements
This position requires a full range of body motion, including manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. The role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. It involves working under pressure and potentially irregular hours. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and other clinical conditions is expected. The employee must be able to reach with hands and arms and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A moderate noise level in the work environment is typical.
