Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

At Sterling Health Solutions Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely submission of medical claims to insurance providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Charge Entry and Posting: Accurately enter and post charges into our practice management system, ensuring compliance with Medicare guidelines and timely reimbursement.
  • Insurance Claims Submission: Submit primary and secondary insurance claims electronically, as well as HCFA semi-weekly, to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients and authorized representatives, responding to account inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient account balances, ensuring maximum reimbursement and minimizing bad debt.
  • Coding and Compliance: Review and verify provider coding to ensure accuracy and compliance with Medicare guidelines.
  • Practice Management System Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in working with our practice management system, including patient registration, charge entry, insurance processing, and advanced collections.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • 2-Year Associate's Degree or Equivalent: Preferred.
  • 3+ Years of Accounts Receivable Experience: Required, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
  • Dental Billing Experience: Preferred, but a willingness to learn and problem-solve is essential.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC): Preferred.
