Position Summary
The Practice Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and management of the assigned healthcare facility under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Collaborate in the formulation of the office operating budget and ensure adherence to it. Implement corrective measures to align expenses with the practice's financial goals. Manage inventory and purchasing in compliance with established protocols, while safeguarding facility assets and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Human Resources Management: Ensure payroll accuracy and timely approvals. Conduct interviews and select candidates to support effective staffing. Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires to enhance engagement and productivity. Regularly interact with staff and providers to foster a positive work environment.
- Information Systems Management: Effectively utilize billing systems and maintain optimal telephone system usage. Ensure compliance with information technology resources and safeguard patient information in accordance with privacy laws.
- Leadership: Provide operational leadership that fosters a positive organizational culture. Communicate effectively in all formats and maintain strong relationships with physicians and staff to inspire collaboration and goal achievement.
- Clinical Care Management: Promote excellent patient relations and empower staff to utilize effective service recovery methods. Streamline healthcare delivery processes to enhance patient flow and ensure quality improvement initiatives are in place.
- Facility Oversight: Conduct regular safety inspections and monitor the work environment for potential hazards. Participate in emergency preparedness activities and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Understand and implement financial assistance practices, coordinating with the Billing Department as necessary. Ensure compliance with coding practices and financial best practices.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities: Explore innovative approaches to patient care delivery and maintain positive public relations.
- Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Associate's degree in business administration is required, along with two years of experience in medical practice management.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or a combination of experience and training that demonstrates the necessary skills.
- A minimum of four years of experience in healthcare leadership is required.
- Proven experience in building relationships with physicians.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and analytical skills are essential, along with proficiency in various software programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and strong communication skills are critical.
Special Requirements
This position requires a full range of body motion, including manual dexterity and coordination. The role may involve working under stressful conditions and exposure to common clinic environment hazards.
