Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Staff to join our team at Home of Hope. As a Direct Care Staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with varying needs, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Personal Support: Train, guide, and assist individuals with personal needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained.
  2. Advocate and Empower: Assist individuals in achieving their maximum potential, advocating on their behalf, and promoting their self-determination.
  3. Collaborate and Communicate: Work cooperatively with employees, service providers, guardians, and families to ensure seamless care and support.
  4. Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and adapt to changing situations.
  5. Vocational Skills Training: Coordinate or provide instruction in vocational skills, enabling individuals to develop new skills and interests.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • No Experience Necessary: We welcome applicants with no prior experience in the field.
  • Working Phone or Cell Phone: A reliable means of communication is essential.
  • Valid Driver's License and Insurance: A valid driver's license and current insurance are required for transportation purposes.
  • Criminal Background Check: A clean criminal background is necessary, as identified by the State of Oklahoma Health Department.
  • First Aid and CPR Training: Completion of first aid and CPR training is required, including compressions on the floor or ground.
  • Pre-Employment, Random, Post-Accident, and Reasonable Cause Drug Screens: You will be required to undergo pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable cause drug screens.
  • Ability to Lift and Push/Pull: You must be able to lift 50-70 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
  • Reliable Motor Skills and Vision: Reliable motor skills and vision sufficient to read or assist individuals in normal or semi-darkened environments are essential.
