Job Summary

ESS is seeking a Support Staff Substitute to assist classroom teachers in providing extra support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students, supplementing regular classroom curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Administrative Duties: Help with administrative tasks such as setting up equipment and preparing materials, supporting the teacher in maintaining a well-organized classroom.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students in various settings, including the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and during before and after school programs.
  • Student Support: Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, providing individualized support as needed.
  • Special Needs Support: Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans, working closely with the classroom teacher and school administration.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration, contributing to the overall success of the school community.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Criminal History Clearance: State/Federal Criminal History Clearance
