Position Overview

This role is a 1-year contractual position focused on credit analysis and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake of credit applications and inquiries from various business units.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of borrowers' financial status by analyzing financial statements, credit histories, and other pertinent information to determine the creditworthiness of both new and existing clients.
  • Evaluate the risks involved in granting credit and provide informed recommendations regarding credit approvals or denials.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment frameworks to enhance overall credit management practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the collections department to identify clients exceeding credit limits or exhibiting potential payment issues, initiating credit reviews as necessary.
  • Work in conjunction with third-party processing teams to ensure adherence to established processes and policies, while assisting in the monitoring of their service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Support the Credit Manager in compiling data and reports for annual credit assessments, presentations, and bankruptcy cases.
  • Identify and communicate special credit circumstances to the Credit Manager, including urgent orders, bankruptcies, and write-offs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with sales, finance, customer service, IT, and accounting teams through regular interactions, addressing all credit-related matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sizable organization (annual sales of $500 million or more) within commercial credit or collections.
  • At least 3 years of experience in assessing commercial clients for creditworthiness.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems and their associated accounts receivable components.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Skilled in analyzing commercial financial statements.
  • Basic knowledge of receivable securitization options, including liens, letters of credit, and deposits/prepayments.
  • Understanding of fundamental commercial bankruptcy regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in sales and customer interactions.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, either in person or via virtual platforms like MS Teams.
