Job Overview:

The Credit Management Associate III plays a vital role in supporting a designated portfolio of commercial customer accounts within the Credit Management division. This position involves managing origination requests and overseeing portfolio administration throughout the account lifecycle. The Associate is responsible for ensuring compliance with all necessary processes in line with Bank standards while maintaining data accuracy and quality control to mitigate losses and minimize risk. The Associate collaborates with lending and credit management teams to gather essential information from various sources, including third parties and internal partners, for key tasks related to loan origination and portfolio management systems. Throughout each stage of an account's lifecycle, the Credit Management Associate III ensures that customer, facility, and regulatory documentation is accurately aligned within internal systems. The Associate serves as a knowledgeable resource in commercial lending processes for colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a designated portfolio of accounts for new and existing commercial clients, providing consistent and professional service throughout the account lifecycle.
  • Assist in uploading due diligence documents received during underwriting to the image repository system in preparation for Loan Specialist assignment.
  • Support the preparation of basic financial analyses for less complex loans, maintaining credit files and financial statements.
  • Input necessary data into the loan origination system to generate loan documents; assist with the closing of new loan accounts and submission of information for onboarding.
  • Collaborate closely with the Credit Management team to support basic underwriting functions, including financial statement analysis.
  • Conduct research on industry-specific information from external sources, publications, libraries, and credit agencies.
  • Assist in clearing and managing exceptions within Credit Management.
  • Support the Credit Management CCM team with reporting, loan activities, delinquencies, and tracking within loan information systems.
  • Generate and distribute reports to the Credit Management team as required.
  • Manage a loan pipeline from origination to booking in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Independently resolve complex issues related to the origination process through to booking.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure records contain accurate content using checklists and other verification tools.
  • Manage and confirm that TD document changes are consistent with system requirements.
  • Evaluate the best course of action considering bank policy, regulatory requirements, customer impact, and cost factors.
  • Establish strong working relationships with commercial stakeholders, credit risk, and other internal departments involved in underwriting, approval, and loan closing.
  • Perform lockdown control and quality checks post-approval to verify that approved terms align with loan origination system data.
  • Provide support for onboarding activities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including FASB and GAAP regulations relevant to assigned business lines.
  • Curiosity and attention to detail with a willingness to investigate the intricacies of assigned accounts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive in obtaining necessary information and influencing others tactfully.
