Position Overview:
Our client is in search of an Administrative Associate specializing in Business Affairs to enhance their team.

Role Summary:
This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison to support the Senior Director of Business Affairs Administration, focusing on contract management for various publishing teams.
  • Oversee contract management tasks for a designated segment of the publishing sector:
    • Collaborate with different departments to ensure effective contract administration and compliance with deliverables.
    • Draft concise summaries of contracts.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to address songwriter client inquiries alongside A&R, Copyright, Royalty, Client Services, and Finance.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of reports and tracking systems to monitor new agreements, upcoming options, expirations, delivery requirements, and other significant contractual terms.
  • Prepare and manage invoices related to contractual payments for publishing agreements.
  • Maintain organized publishing files and records in line with the company’s document retention policies, participating in various technology initiatives.
  • Provide additional support to the Publishing Business & Legal Affairs department as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the music publishing industry, ideally in rights management.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex contractual concepts.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and self-motivated, able to navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Adobe Acrobat PRO, and cloud-based document management systems. Familiarity with JIRA and Salesforce is advantageous.
