Key Responsibilities:

We are currently in search of a Plant Financial Operations Leader for our manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing the implementation and interpretation of accounting policies relevant to the plant. This role involves contributing to the development of strategic plans and providing leadership while collaborating with local management on financial matters. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all cost accounting and general accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing product costing and variance analysis.
  • Regularly reviewing material, labor, and overhead accounts to ensure accurate reporting and making recommendations for budgeting or forecasting.
  • Establishing and updating bill of materials and labor routings in the accounting system to reflect true product costs.
  • Advising on modifications to the chart of accounts and cost systems to adapt to evolving trends.
  • Supervising the maintenance of financial records and the preparation of control reports.
  • Developing accurate budgets and forecasts for the plant to ensure financial accountability.
  • Closing financial records at the end of each period and providing variance explanations.
  • Conducting account analysis, managing inventory tracking systems, and overseeing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensuring the integrity of inventory transactions and controls.
  • Leading compliance efforts for financial regulations.
  • Overseeing payroll preparation and maintaining necessary records.
  • Managing records related to insurance, taxes, and other accounting matters.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment. Previous supervisory experience and familiarity with manufacturing software are essential.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with clarity in expressing ideas and solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with financial compliance initiatives is advantageous.
