Key Responsibilities:

We are currently in search of a Plant Controller who will operate under general management guidelines and oversee the administration and interpretation of accounting policies relevant to our manufacturing facility. The Controller will engage in the formulation and support of the Company's strategic initiatives while providing leadership within the plant and sharing financial insights with local management. This role includes the daily assessment of production and financial activities to ensure alignment with forecasts and budgets, adhering to applicable regulations and accounting standards.

Specific duties encompass:

  • Leading all cost accounting and general accounting functions and reports for the plant to guarantee accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Managing all product costing and variance analysis.
  • Continuously reviewing and monitoring material, labor, and overhead accounts to ensure accurate reporting; making recommendations for budget or forecast adjustments.
  • Establishing and modifying bills of materials, labor routings, and overhead for all stock items in SAP to reflect the true cost of our products.
  • Advising on modifications to the chart of accounts, cost systems, and other practices to adapt to evolving trends and conditions.
  • Supervising the maintenance of manufacturing ledgers, cost accounting activities, and the preparation of financial and control reports for the plant.
  • Developing the plant's budget and forecasts accurately to ensure financial accountability.
  • Closing financial books each period, reporting results, and explaining variances.
  • Providing account analysis, inventory tracking systems, cost reduction initiatives, and evaluating payback on capital projects.
  • Overseeing all inventory transactions and controls.
  • Leading compliance efforts for SOX within the facility.
  • Supervising the preparation and distribution of payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including maintaining necessary earnings and deductions records.
  • Managing records related to workers' compensation awards and payments, plant insurance coverage and losses, property taxes, and other accounting-related matters.
  • May serve as office manager, administer credit policies, oversee timekeeping operations, and ensure compliance with operational and capital budgets.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or cost accounting role. Previous supervisory experience and familiarity with SAP Manufacturing are also essential.

  • Proven experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior experience with SOX compliance initiatives is a plus.
