We are currently seeking a Plant Controller for our Ada, OH football factory, who works under general management guidelines and is responsible for the administration and interpretation of company accounting policies applicable to the manufacturing plant. The Controller participates in the development of and support of the Companys strategic plans and provides leadership to the plant while consulting and sharing financial information with local leaders. This includes the daily review of production/financial activity to ensure forecasts and budget are on target and comply with applicable laws and general accounting principles.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Organize and lead all cost accounting and general accounting operations and reports for the plant to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance
• Responsible for all product costing and variance analysis
• Continuous review and monitoring of material, labor and burden accounts to ensure they are properly being reported; make recommendations to budget or forecast
• Establish and modify bill of materials, labor routings & burden for all stock numbers in SAP that reflect accurate cost of our product
• Recommend modifications in chart of accounts, cost systems, and other practices to meet changing trends and conditions
• Supervise the maintenance of manufacturing ledgers, cost accounting activities, and the preparation of plant financial and other control reports
• Develop the plants budget & forecasts accurately to ensure financial accountability
• Close financial books every period, report results and explain variances
• Provide account analysis, inventory tracking systems, cost reduction projects, and payback on capital projects.
• Safeguard and oversee all inventory transactions and controls
• Lead SOX compliance efforts for the facility
• Supervise the preparation and distribution of hourly and salary payrolls, including the maintenance of required earnings and deductions records, if applicable
• Direct the maintenance of records relating to workers compensation awards and payments, plant insurance coverage and losses, property taxes, and other subjects of an accounting nature
• May serve as office manager, administer credit policy, control timekeeping operations, and check compliance with operating and capital budgets

This role requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus 5-7 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting or cost accounting role. Previous supervisory experience and experience working with SAP Manufacturing is also required.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas, problems and solutions with clarity
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven experience handing sensitive and confidential information
• Strong proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Previous experience with SOX compliance efforts a plus
