Key Responsibilities:


We are currently in search of a Manufacturing Operations Leader responsible for overseeing all production functions within our facility. This includes ensuring the safety of all personnel, spearheading Lean Manufacturing initiatives, maintaining product quality, optimizing production efficiency, and managing financial aspects such as budgets and cost control.

This role entails planning, executing, and sustaining manufacturing operations while ensuring the effective utilization of materials, equipment, and workforce to produce high-quality products.


Specific duties encompass, but are not limited to:


Providing leadership and guidance (including mentoring and training) to foster a positive workplace culture aligned with Wilson's mission, vision, and values while achieving organizational goals.

Managing manufacturing projects in collaboration with the Engineering team, including monitoring production timelines and enhancing workflows for parts, components, and assemblies.


Collaborating closely with the financial team to develop and implement manufacturing budgets, ensuring accurate cost assessments to maintain favorable manufacturing variances.

Maximizing manufacturing outcomes through resource optimization and waste reduction.

Collecting and analyzing key performance metrics by gathering operational data, assessing results, and implementing corrective measures.

Committing to safety protocols within the plant. Enhancing productivity through safety initiatives, including the development of ergonomic workstations and efficient tooling layouts.


Coordinating with other departments to facilitate product improvements and new product launches; driving engineering deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.

Assessing work methods, procedures, and policies; identifying, documenting, and implementing necessary business process improvements.

Providing support to engineering in tooling development and assisting with sourcing activities for tooling production. Creating and maintaining documentation for equipment operation and standard operating procedures.

Building relationships with internal and external suppliers to foster a collaborative environment and effectively resolve sourcing challenges.

Managing relationships with unionized workforce and negotiating contracts in partnership with the Human Resources team.

Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in plant or general management within a manufacturing setting; a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field is strongly preferred.


Additional qualifications include:
Prior management experience in a unionized environment is essential.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and managing cultural transformations within an organization.

Proven leadership, team-building, and coaching abilities with the confidence to lead cross-functional teams and manage high-visibility projects successfully.

Ability to inspire and develop employee skills.


Comprehensive understanding of all facets of manufacturing operations, including order management, scheduling, inventory control, and quality assurance.

Knowledge of best practices for continuous improvement and Lean tools, including the capability to lead improvement initiatives.

Familiarity with DFx principles to enhance product quality and reduce costs.

Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA, DMAIC, and 8D.

Strong grasp of budgeting processes and basic finance and accounting principles.

Broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety regulations.

Excellent organizational and planning skills.

Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Highly motivated and results-driven.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
