Position Overview

Reports to: Contracts & Pricing Manager, with indirect reporting to the Director of National Accounts and National Account Manager.

The National Account Specialist serves as a vital internal sales support role, collaborating closely with Sales Management as a key member of the Sterno National Accounts Team. This team is responsible for managing and nurturing B2B relationships with select National Distributors, Chains, and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). The specialist will facilitate all aspects of Sterno's engagement with these accounts while working collaboratively with various internal departments.

A successful candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, a commitment to delivering exceptional service, and possess analytical skills. They should be self-driven, solution-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic team environment that includes both on-site and remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and oversee key customer-related functions, including sales proposals, customer contracts, pricing adjustments, national sales initiatives, and forecasting
  • Manage GPO sales reporting, encompassing sales analysis, cost evaluations, promotional tracking, marketing fund accruals, and general reporting
  • Assist in managing and executing critical contract obligations, including recurring rebates, pricing terms, and national account exceptions
  • Act as a liaison between customers and Sterno's marketing functions, ensuring adherence to brand specifications and customization of marketing materials
  • Oversee the management and administration of GPO electronic systems, portals, catalogs, and databases essential for key business operations such as purchase order and invoice tracking, scorecards, item setup, and promotional activities
  • Coordinate project management and logistics
  • Facilitate customer and trade show coordination
  • Provide administrative support to the National Accounts Team, including but not limited to:
    • General administrative tasks (mailings, copying, proofreading, etc.)
    • Drafting correspondence and communications
    • Creating PowerPoint presentations and slide decks
    • Establishing and maintaining filing and archiving systems
    • Coordinating sample requests and marketing materials
  • Represent the National Accounts Team in meetings and cross-functional team settings as necessary
  • Support additional Sterno projects, functions, and initiatives as required
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity in all work-related activities.
  • May involve limited travel.
